The TEACCH Method is a structured teaching approach developed to support individuals with autism by promoting independence and quality of life through personalized educational plans, visual supports, and structured environments. Key principles include individualized assessment, structured teaching, visual supports, focus on communication, and promoting independence.
The PECS Method is a behavior-based communication system using pictures to help individuals with autism initiate communication. It involves phases of learning from basic picture exchange to constructing sentences, with emphasis on reinforcement, data collection, spontaneity, and integration with other communication forms.
